John Hopfield

 



John Joseph Hopfield, born in 1933, is an American physicist known for his work on associative neural networks and the development of the Hopfield network. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2024 with Geoffrey E. Hinton for his work on artificial networks. Hopfield has also won awards in condensed matter physics, statistical physics, and biophysics.

John Joseph Hopfield, born in 1933, is a renowned physicist and professor. He received his Ph.D. in physics from Cornell University in 1958 and has held faculty positions at various universities. Hopfield co-founded the Computation and Neural Systems PhD program at Caltech in 1986.
